The Animator's Survival Kit by Richard Williams-- after graduating from Preston Blair's book, move on to this amazing text filled with advanced, detailed examples of various animation techniques.

Animation by Preston Blair-- an excellent introduction to animation techniques and concepts with many practical examples.

The Illusion Of Life by Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston-- an expensive but comprehensive and colorful examination of the art of animation as codified by the Disney studios in the1930s.
